Buying or selling a home can be frustrating, especially if you’re working with a realtor who isn’t tuned into what you really want. I know this from personal experience. When I bought my first home, I felt like my realtor didn’t try to get a sense of what I was looking for. I didn’t offer a lot of opinions, but he also didn’t try to draw out my vision or develop a picture of what I was looking for in a home.

That experience led me to leave my exciting career as a project manager for an armored car company and earn my real estate license. As a realtor, I strive to understand my clients — from what they’re looking for in a new property to preferred methods of communications and property searching — and to adapt to their needs. My customers’ preferences come first.

Real estate beyond buying and selling

Something else happened when I purchased my first home. I developed a love of improving properties. The first home I purchased was a true “fixer upper.” I put work into it, and I learned from the contractors I hired to do the heavy lifting. I was encouraged by the positive responses I got for my hard work from family, friends and neighbors.

Since then, I’ve taken on more “fixer uppers,” and I have learned which investments pay off and how to find trustworthy contractors who bring value to the projects. As a Realtor, I act as a home advisor to my clients, sharing my home-improvement knowledge with them. For buyers, that means I am happy to advise you on which projects will provide you with a good return on investment, and I can steer you toward the area’s best contractors. For sellers, that means I can help you make inexpensive, worthwhile changes that will make your home more attractive to buyers.

With my clients, I go beyond the simple acts of buying and selling. I share my expertise. I know the market. I can help find homes that fit within your needs and your budget. I can counsel you on improving your home. Before, during and after the sale, I serve as a resource for my clients. Too many real estate agents are salespeople. I pride myself on being a trusted advisor.

More about Ron

I have lived my entire life in the DC-metro area, born and raised in Mount Vernon. After my father retired from his military career, my family settled in Alexandria. Before earning my real estate license in 2010, I worked as a project manager for an armoring vehicle builder in northern Virginia, helping to manufacture SWAT trucks for police and armored luxury limousine for the extremely wealthy.
